Svikasögur (Stories of Betrayal), written and directed by María Reyndal, will premiere on the Main Stage of Reykjavík City Theatre on 19 September. She is known for her hilariously funny and deeply human works, including Am I My Mother? (Er ég mamma mín) and With God in My Pocket (Með guð í vasanum). In Svikasögur, she explores divorce and the breakdown of the nuclear family, using humour and warmth as her guiding tools.
Theater Café is an engaging event for everyone interested in theatre. It begins at Reykjavík City Library in Kringlan, where director María Reyndal will discuss the production Svikasögur (Stories of Betrayal), her approach to the work, and her creative methodology.
Afterwards, participants will walk together to the Main Stage of Reykjavík City Theater (Borgarleikhúsið), where they will explore the set design created by Eva Signý Berger. Attendees will also have the opportunity to take part in discussions and ask questions.
Guests attending Theater Café will receive a 10% discount on tickets for the performance.
