Klinck Trio brings together three exceptional voices from the Belgian music scene: violinist and composer Elisabeth Klinck, saxophonist Adia Vanheerentals and pianist/producer Maya Dhondt. With their debut album My Hair is Everywhere, the trio has developed an intimate musical language in which melody and silence maintain a delicate balance.
The music is rooted in improvisation and exudes an openness in which every sound and every pause take on meaning. The album sounds like an invitation to listen closely: from whispered details and moments of pause to playful melodies and tender resonances. Inspired by artists like Meredith Monk, the music oscillates between lightness and melancholy, seeking a fragile beauty that only fully unfolds in silence.

Based in Reykjavik, ADHD’s music is not easy to categorise. It is melodic and infused with a good dose of Icelandic melancholy and humour. Programmers categorise ADHD somewhere between melancholic, jazz-rock and ambient. Their music is often described as an atmospheric, immersive trip, whilst their live performances are regarded as a long emotional journey through the past, present and future of jazz.
The band never uses a set list at live concerts. The programme takes shape organically as the four band members interact with one another on stage. As a result, every concert is completely different. A performance by these four Vikings is always an all-encompassing ritual, an exorcising potion and a natural phenomenon. It has been 11 years since they last performed here. A concert that sold out in no time. Don’t sleep on it!

There are bands where every album is a step into the unknown. There are others whose development is a reliable and consistent expansion of their terrain. The latter applies to the Icelandic musicians’ collective ADHD.
It is almost impossible to describe their concerts along traditional musical parameters. A performance by these four Vikings is always an all-encompassing ritual, a magic potion of incantation dance and a phenomenon of nature. When keyboarder THÓMAS JÓNSSON, guitarrist and bass player ÓMAR GUÐJÓNSSON, saxophonist ÓSKAR GUÐJÓNSSON, und drummer MAGNÚS TRYGVASON ELIASSEN are on stage, the ordinary Middle European mortal will get at least a vague sense of how the island people in the very north of Europe have been able to survive the long and icy winters through the centuries. They simply produce their energy out of themselves.
This unbridled stream of human vibration, which overrides all perimeters of genre and fascinates jazz fans as much as rock fans and ravers, follows a most ancient human desire, whose non-verbal impulse is older than any language and yet is entirely rooted in the present. The expanse of the cosmos and the infinity of time culminate in this happening of total music, as well as a profound mysticism of free imagination and an unflagging confrontation with contemporary issues.
The Gesamtkunstwerk ADHD cannot be quite captured in words. This sublime timelessness in the here and now can only be experienced.
